How would you like to receive a package in the mail that had a digital voice recorder in it with a Mission Impossible-style recording? That's exactly what Intermec Technologies did to invite a group of prospects to an invitation only reception during a trade show.
HRB developed a 3-D mailer that informed recipients that they were cleared for a highly confidential mission. When they opened the box they found a digital voice recorder with instructions to press play and receive their mission. The recorded message instructed them to attend an invitation-only reception during the trade show.
Did it work? You bet it did. Intermec's prospects were drawn in by the creative direct mailer and attended the reception for more information.
